General Questions

Tibetan, also known as Himalayan, singing bowls are special musical instruments that produce a rich, deep, and lasting sound when struck or played with a wooden mallet. These vibrations can not only be heard but also felt throughout the body.

The bowls used during our sessions are traditionally made from an alloy of seven different metals. Each bowl is individually shaped by hand through more than 1,200 hammer strikes, a process that gives it a unique sound, powerful resonance, and long-lasting vibrations that can continue for several minutes.

Each bowl produces a specific musical note that is traditionally associated with a particular energy center (chakra) of the body. During a session, the sound and resonance of the bowls can help identify areas where energy feels blocked or unbalanced. The bowls continue to be played until the vibrations become more harmonious and balanced.

The combination of sound and vibration creates a deep sense of relaxation for both the body and mind. Many people describe feeling calmer, more balanced, and as if the layers of everyday stress are gradually being released.

Some of the commonly reported benefits include:

  • Deep physical and mental relaxation
  • Reduction of stress and anxiety
  • Release of chronic tension and discomfort
  • Improved circulation
  • Support of the body's natural recovery processes
  • Reduction of blood pressure
  • Improved quality of sleep
  • Increased energy and vitality
  • Enhanced creativity and mental clarity
  • Restoring a connection between body, mind, and spirit

After a session, most people experience a deep feeling of calm and relaxation, similar to the feeling after a long meditation or a refreshing sleep.

Some people experience a sense of lightness, emotional release, or even euphoria. Others notice an immediate reduction in long-standing tension or physical discomfort.

After the initial period of relaxation, many people report increased energy, improved focus and concentration, greater productivity, a lighter emotional state, and clearer thinking.

The harmonization of the energy centers and the calming effect on the nervous system may continue to support a sense of balance and well-being for several days after the session.

Yes. Emotional responses are completely natural and common.

Some people may cry as they release stored sadness, fear, or emotional tension. Others may experience tears of joy, while some people may not experience any strong emotional reaction at all.

Occasionally, a person may temporarily feel irritation or discomfort as the vibrations reach deeper levels of the nervous system and help release accumulated tension. These sensations usually pass quickly.

Every experience is unique. The best approach is simply to relax, stay present, and allow the process to unfold naturally.

It is recommended to arrive at least 5 minutes before your session begins, giving you time to settle in, use the restroom, and prepare yourself mentally and physically.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing with minimal buttons, zippers, or metal accessories. Yoga or comfortable sports clothing is an excellent choice.

You may also choose to use an eye cover, which can be provided. When one sense is reduced, the others become more sensitive, allowing you to experience the sound and vibrations more deeply.

A singing bowl therapy session cannot truly be explained in words — it needs to be experienced.

Every person responds differently, and every session is unique. For this reason, we encourage you to come without fixed expectations or judgments. The deepest benefits often come when you relax, breathe naturally, and fully surrender to the experience.

During the session, you will lie comfortably on a mat or treatment table, fully clothed. Depending on your individual needs, the singing bowls may be placed around your body, in the center of the mat, or gently on specific areas of the body.

As the session begins, the space gradually fills with sound and vibration. Your body and mind begin to relax, your nervous system calms, and you may enter a state of deep relaxation and inner stillness.

There is no prescribed number of sessions, but it is recommended to leave at least a week between two therapies, to give the vibrations time to do their work, since they continue to affect our cells for several days after the session itself.

Many people choose weekly sessions, every two weeks, or monthly sessions as part of their personal wellness routine.

The more regularly you practice, the more consistently you may experience the supportive effects of relaxation, balance, and inner calm.

Health & Safety

If possible, it is recommended to remove or switch off your hearing aids during the session, as the intensity and frequencies of the singing bowls may cause discomfort or overwhelm the device.

Yes, sound therapy is suitable during pregnancy too and can help the expectant mother cope with hormonal changes by lowering cortisol levels. However, since every pregnancy is individual, we advise our clients to stay attentive during the session and, if anything in their body signals discomfort, tension, or stress, to feel free to stop the session at any time.

Because a baby is surrounded by amniotic fluid, vibrations are experienced considerably more strongly. It is important to discuss your situation with your practitioner beforehand. In these cases, the bowls are placed further away from the body.

Joint replacements, such as hip or knee implants, are generally not considered a problem for singing bowl therapy.

However, singing bowls should not be placed directly on areas containing metal implants, as the vibrations may create an uncomfortable sensation. Please inform your therapist before the session if you have any implants.

Singing bowl therapy is not recommended for people with pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD), artificial heart valves, or coronary stents.

The vibrations may potentially cause discomfort or interfere with the function of these sensitive medical devices.

Many people who experience migraines find sound therapy deeply relaxing and supportive. Certain techniques using singing bowls may help release tension in specific areas and encourage relaxation.

For tinnitus (ringing in the ears), smaller bowls with higher frequencies may, in some cases, help reduce the perception of ringing. However, results are individual and cannot be guaranteed.

If you have epilepsy, it is recommended that you consult your doctor before receiving a singing bowl therapy session to ensure that sound vibrations do not present a risk for you.

Research has shown that music and rhythm can have a powerful influence on the human nervous system.

For some people with neurological conditions, sound and rhythm may support movement coordination and stimulate certain areas of the brain. The vibrations created by singing bowls may provide a calming and supportive experience.

However, singing bowl therapy should always be considered a complementary wellness practice and not a replacement for medical treatment.

If you have increased sensitivity to sound or vibration, please inform your therapist before the session begins.

During individual sessions, the volume, intensity of vibrations, and distance of the instruments can easily be adjusted to ensure that your experience remains comfortable, peaceful, and enjoyable. Your comfort and well-being are always the priority.
